It is
our 2nd day (cum last full day) in Kyoto before we head for Mt. Fuji
the next day… We visited 2 more temples and Gion. Since we are visiting
several places today, we brought the City Bus All Day Pass again…
BTW, shops in Kyoto closes really early (like 7-8PM), hence don’t
expect shopping after 8PM. To tackle that, we generally shop first and
have late dinners… BTW, it’s a must to try out the various food items
sold in the food department of the shopping centres… there’s vast
variety of Japanese food and you will be spoilt for choices… But do
remember to get there early, preferably before the working class knocks
off…

The shrine is a three-minute walk from JR Nara Line Inari Station…
The shrine sits at the base of a mountain also named Inari,
and includes trails up the mountain to many smaller shrines...
Good news, admission is FREE!
Wash your hands before going into the temple…

Fushimi Inari Shrine is also famous for the countless torii gates,
offerings by worshippers, that cover the hiking trails of Inarisan,
the wooded mountain behind the shrine's main buildings.
It takes about two hours to walk along the whole trail.
See the number of Torii gates? That’s just the beginning…
Engravings on the gates are actually Chinese characters?!
