There’s many shops, restaurants along the steep and busy lanes
leading towards the temple… It’s ice-cream time again!

Gion is Kyoto’s most famous Geisha district along Hanami-koji street.
There’s numerous beautiful old buildings, teahouses and restaurant.
As we arrived in late afternoon,
we didn’t manage to spot any Geisha apprentice
(They only appear in the evening)….
There is a popular misconception that Gion is a red-light district.
Geisha are entertainers, not prostitutes and hence Gion is not,
and never was a red-light district.
