Reaching Kawaguchiko Station…

"Retro Bus" lines provide local transportation around
Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake
Sai…
We didn’t travel on it since free pickup was available from Lakeland Hotel
Mizunosato…

To our dismay, direct buses to Tokyo’s Shinjuku Station (operated by Keio
Highway & Fujikyu)
were full and the next available one was in the evening?!

Hence, we had to change our plans right on the spot.
We took the Fujikyu railway
line from Kawaguchiko station towards Otsuki (50 mins)
and subsequently
transferred to the limited express train to Shinjuku (70mins).
That’s the only
major hiccup we encountered in transferring…
Cost via Train = JPY2,390 +
JPY900 (Premium for Limited Express) = JPY 3,290
compared to JPY1,700 by direct
bus (Slightly less than two hours)
Lesson Learnt : On weekends, buy the
bus ticket to Shinjuku in advance.
Vance: No time was lost still, we are really lucky for this trip :)

Patches of paddy field for rice…

To get to Shinjuku earlier, we decided to take the
Limited Express train instead
of local train…This will save us another half an hour…
Vance: Read: Smart (on the) move!

Here comes the Limited Express train to Shinjuku…

Opps, we went to the wrong cabin…
As we didn’t reserve any seats in advance,
we
should not be in the reserved cabin…
