The program for today is to conquer Tokyo Disneyland, my dream destination for years! I’ve been dreaming of visiting Disneyland for sooooooooo long. Coincidentally, Tokyo Disney Resort celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. With plenty of new and exciting programs lined up throughout the year, I guessed it’s really a good time to visit Tokyo Disneyland this year.

Anyway, most of the dialog in the rides and attractions is in Japanese. All signs, restaurant menus etc. are printed in Japanese (although they all include English translation in small prints). Almost all of the employees are Japanese except for some Ang Mos whom are the casts for the princes and princesses.
Interestingly, majority of the guests you see in Tokyo Disneyland are Japanese.

It’s a Monday but Disneyland was crowded with students and children! Don’t they need to study? Hhhmmm…

Taking the Chuo Line, which is the only JR line to cross the
circle of the Yamanote Line from Shinjuku to Tokyo...

And there are 2 types of service, namely rapid and local service.
The rapid trains stop only at Shinjuku, Yotsuya, Ochanomizu,
Kanda and Tokyo Station, while the local trains stop at all stations
between Shinjuku and Ochanomizu and then continue to operate on the Sobu Line to Chiba.

To get to Disneyland from Shinjuku to Tokyo, take the rapid service.

Packed train during morning peak... Hardly any space to squeeze in...

At Tokyo Station, transfer to Keiyo line for JR Maihama station...

It's a long long walk to transfer from Tokyo Station to Keiyo line....
It's at least a 15mins walk??!!
So Singaporeans, stop complaining about transferring between SMRT lines to NE lines...

The Keiyo Line is operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East)
and is the main rail access to the Tokyo Disney Resort.

Similarly, there’s 2 types of services, local and rapid services.
The local trains stop at all stations between Tokyo and Soga
except Nishi-Funabashi whereas the rapid service trains stop at Tokyo,
Hatchōbori, Shin-Kiba, Maihama, Shin-Urayasu, Minami-Funabashi,
Kaihin-Makuhari and all stops to Soga. Hence,
take the rapid service to Maihama and you will be in Disneyland soon…

Detailed plans to conquer Disneyland within the next 12 hours... kekeke...

Short walk (around 8-10mins) from JR Maihama station to Disneyland…

There’s a huge gift shop outside even before you smell Disneyland…
So if you need gifts from Disneyland (but don’t intend to be admitted into Disneyland),
you may consider to try this out…

We brought a 2-Day passport which allows admission to Tokyo Disneyland on
Day 1 and Tokyo DisneySea on the next day.
Cost = JPY10,000 (S$130)…

Behind us : Tokyo Disneyland Hotel..
They don’t have Character rooms featuring Winnie the Pooh…
So we didn’t stay there…

Alternatively, take direct buses from Shinjuku Station to Disneyland…
It’s a 50 mins ride and cost JPY800 (one way)…
But we heard that the buses are always full and
you will have to wait for another 30mins for the next bus… Hence, we aborted the idea…

Tokyo Disneyland Park Operating Hours 0800AM - 1000PM…
We thought we were early to reach there at 7 plus…
But look at these people… They are even earlier then us…. *Faints*

The queue is not for the tickets...
it's for admission to the park...
and it is not opened yet!!!

Great patience required…
But the good thing was that the queue is orderly…
except for some misbehaving and crying kids and Chin Na Tourists…
What do to, it’s a place for kids…

All equipped with sun block and umbrellas... :)
BTW ladies, sun blocks are really cheap and widely available in Japan.
The sun block that I’m holding is from
Mentholatum Skincare UV Moisture Milk SPF50.
It’s really good as it doesn’t give the sticky feeling that most sun blocks gives…
